Invite Maria to Your Book Club
Maria loves book clubs though she’s a little worried about Karmic payback for all the criticisms that she has leveled at other books during discussions. (Once, a book club member suggested they read “On The Road” and her response was “I agree with Truman Capote when he said “That’s not writing, that’s typing” in regards to Kerouac’s classic.)
She thoroughly enjoyed both “Eat, Love, Pray” by Elizabeth Gilbert and “Garlic and Sapphires” by Ruth Reichl, she did refer to them as romance novels for literary women because we love vicariously experiencing the fantasy lives they lead. No fortune teller even told Maria she was the luckiest person in the whole world. Her ex did not write her “Beauty attracts beauty.” More like, F… You Too! And having to choose between being the restaurant critic for The Los Angeles Times or the New York Times–That’s so hard! How did Ruth do it?
How it Works
Now humbly on the other side of the book club, she would love to visit your group, either in person or via Skype. And if you are Mac enabled for instant chatting, all the better. Her only request is that the criticisms are leveled at her book before or after she’s present. When face-to-face, softballs only please! But she promises not to cry, unless she’s had too much wine.
For people in the San Francisco Bay area, Maria lives in beautiful Sausalito and would love to schedule a visit with you. For everyone else, please check the tour calendar to see if and when she will be in your area.
